Live From The Field (Currently Finnegan Irish Pub)

This is a first. I thought it was a good idea creating a new category, hence a new page, to post whatever I feel to share when I’m actually on the field, which in my case, being a traveler, is wherever I am while traveling. That’s because a couple of days ago, I booked a flight for my next travel (a long weekend) cause I thought it was too far the one booked for the end of May.

What can I say, I know it isn’t too far at all, but I really needed to get going soon. I need to escape from my ordinary life. You know, just to taste some freedom. So I needed to try posting from the field.

Anyway, I’m not exactly on the field right now, but being lucky as I am to be born and living in Rome, I don’t lack the opportunities to post something that is worth seeing or experiencing. So right now I’m at one of my favorite places in the city, that it happens to be the only original Irish Pub in Rome. Finnegan.

I mean, we have a lot of Irish Pubs here, but they are more like “Irish theme” pubs. Finnegan instead is the only Irish owned. And you know that as soon as you get inside. It’s probably the only one you can find, where at 4 pm you need to find room to sip your beer. That’s what I’m doing now. I’m sipping my Holy Guinness.

And all this, while a lot of English, Scottish and Irish people, are drinking like hell, and watching a match of a sport that I, a very sport guy, totally don’t understand. Rugby. Scotland versus Ireland today. I just spoke to an English guy who is supporting Scotland because of the ranking in this tournament. Ever been at an Irish or British pub before? You can imagine the atmosphere then. Crazy. And fun. So fun.

Going back to my first post from the field, this is also the first time I’m going to post by the WordPress App. I mean, I use it all the time to read blogs and checking mine, but I never used it before to post an article.

Hoping to use it more often in the next future, a greeting to everyone from Finnegan, Rome.

Bravo! Irish pubs have very good atmospheres 🙂 the rugby was a tough game. England won their match but Ireland won the six nations. England will try harder for the world cup!

Thanks Em! Yes, the atmosphere is fantastic! I understand you’re a rugby fan:) I just know Italy sucks at it, so as far as I’m concerned, go England! 😉
