I haven’t been posting for a while, but that’s also because I haven’t been traveling since last August. Last week though, I went to New York. I’ve been there four times by now, but I have to say it still surprises me as it would be my first one. Even though I really feel at home, and I know the city pretty well, considering I’m not from New York, every time I get to go to the city that never sleeps, I get to see how it’s on a constant development and how it gets nicer and nicer.
Anyway, this particular time was special, because I decided it was time to bring my bike with me. My Brompton is the queen of the city bikes, so I thought it was a great idea riding it around one of the most beautiful cities in the world.
These videos show how the vacation went. I had a lot fun making them, I hope you guys enjoy them. Feel free to comment or ask any questions, I’d be happy to help you out if you need any tips or suggestions.
See you guys next time!
I’ve always thought I was a New Yorker deep inside. That’s what happens when you grow up watching american movies. And that was exactly how I felt the first time I got to the City that never sleeps. On the shuttle I took at JFK to reach Manhattan, I wasn’t just excited because I was finally going to see the city I dreamt of since I was a kid. I felt like I was coming home. And the day after, at 5 in the morning, I was already wandering around Midtown, no precise destination in mind. No map either. I had it all in my head. One of the nicest strolls of my whole life. At last I found myself in Times Square. That was my first time, and now I’m going back for the fourth time. Can’t wait to get there.
The first two times were kind of the same. I got to see all the main spots around Manhattan, plus a glimpse of Brooklyn and a Yankees match in The Bronx. The third time was even better because it was at Christmas and I was with my family. We got to spend a wonderful Christmas at my relative’s in the Hudson Valley, and an unbelievable week in the best neighborhood of the whole Manhattan to live in, which is Greenwich Village in my opinion.
But this time is going to be special. I’m bringing my Brompton with me, and I’m finally going to stay the whole week in Brooklyn. I don’t know yet exactly the precise address of the room I booked, but it’s somewhere between Williamsburg and Bushwick, two of the coolest neighborhoods of New York. The cradle of the hipster movement, I’m told. And while I’m not exactly the prototype of an hipster, I guess with my folding bike I will fit right in.
And I have plans. I’ll tell you more next time I post, but I can tell you this isn’t going to be a classic touristic vacation. Hopefully, I’ll get to see one different place/neighborhood, off the most touristic beaten paths, every day of my week. A different bike ride everyday, discovering places you hardly find on the NYC guides under the top 10 must see list, but that I’m sure are going to give me the essential insight of what the City really looks like to a real New Yorker. I’m gonna have to plan ahead my itineraries this time, cause I absolutely wanna make the most out of this trip. Though I already know I won’t be avoiding Manhattan. You can’t help its pull. After all Sprinkles is on Madison Avenue, and God knows how much I love Sprinkles cupcakes.
I’ll keep you posted, take care guys!
It should have been just a place in the middle of my way to the Grand Canyon Of The Gunnison, turned out it was a beautiful camping surrounded by the Lake and the Rocky Mountains, with stunning views all over the place.
It was my first day camping and I struggled a wee bit to build the tent, but now I got it, it’s very simple. Tonight it’s gonna take me 2 minutes, I’m sure.
So, great experience. Unfortunately I don’t have time to write long posts while on the road, but I managed to edit some videos and I hope they’re going to give you at least some glimpses of how wonderful these places are.
Here’s the one of my 5th day,
I’ll talk to you soon, meanwhile take it easy guys!
Hi everybody! It’s still me, this time blogging from Colorado Springs. I moved today and I’m staying in a motel just for the night.
It’s not a long drive to get here from Denver, still I had a long day. First thing in the morning, I went to the Red Rocks Amphitheater, then I got to my motel pretty soon. But the hardest thing I did today, was riding my bike all around the Garden Of The Gods. And I have to say that was really something.
Garden Of The Gods it’s a unbelievably beautiful Park of red rocks here in Colorado Springs. You can tell how hard it was by the swearwords on my video. But God, it was fucking worth it.
Tomorrow is going to start the camping part of the trip, I’ll be in Twin Lakes for my first night in a tent. I should be fine though. I’ll let you know anyway.
I’m not sure how long I’ll be able to post and share my videos, since I find it hard they’re going to have wi fi at the camping grounds, and I have to spare my gigas cause I need them for the GPS. But don’t worry. Either I’ll find a way or I’ll catch up with you later.
In the meantime, here’s my 4 day.
Take care guys!
Hello guys! I stayed in Denver today. I got to see all the things I didn’t see the day I arrived, and I gotta say it was fun.
First thing in the morning though, was heading to Walmart to get my tent and a sleeping bag, cause you know, I’m going to camp in some of the Parks I’m going to see in this vacation. Once I got it, I started my ride around the city.
I gotta say, the real deal here with me, is my Brompton. I usually walk endless miles every time I’m abroad, but this time is so much easier and I’m having a lot of fun and I don’t even get exhausted at the end of the day. Besides, this way I get to see a lot more in less time.
Also, it draws a lot of attention. I can’t count the times in three days, people stopped me to ask me A, how much does it cost and B, how much does it weighs. Or just to say it’s cool. I kind of like that though. It is in fact really cool.
Anyway, I’m gonna leave you at my video, which this time got a better song, since I finally figured out how to deal with the copyright violations.
Take care guys!
Hi everybody. I made it, I’m in Denver right now. I had a long travel but everything went well. Well, except for the fact that at the airport they had my new luggage basically destroyed. Other than that I’m fine and I’m about to get this roadtrip started.
I was at the hostel around 16.30 yesterday, so I had the time to settle and go out for a ride on my bike. It’s hot here, but acceptable. Few people around, very quiet, peaceful, no traffic at all. I guess it’s the period, too hot to stay out during the day. All in all, a nice little town. I enjoyed my little stroll and shot some pictures and videos around Downtown, and that’s what I’m going to show you.
Hopefully I’ll be able to update you guys on a daily basis, but if not don’t worry about it. You’ll be hearing from me soon.
Take it easy guys!
