I can’t think of anyone else so crazy to go visit Krakow in February. Nonetheless, hadn’t I been there off season, I couldn’t have been able to shoot a picture to its main landmark with no tourists around. Shot taken in Rynek Glowny, Krakow, Poland. February 2007

    Less crowd or no crowd. A definite advantage of traveling off season. I mostly travel during that time.

    I’d brave the cold weather of February just for that. Much nicer to appreciate it all without all the tourists getting in you way, and your photos…

      You’re totally right! Plus, I thought “Poland is supposed to be a cold country, so let’s see it in winter to get its real atmosphere!” 🙂

    I completely agree that the off-season is one of the best times to visit a place because of the lack of tourist crowds and also for the lower prices! But brrr, it must have been chilly! Great shot however so it was worth it!

      Thank you Lia! Oh yes it was cold but I was fine, I got there prepared 🙂 You would have been fine too… Used to the NYC winter it would have been pretty normal for you! 😉

        Yes, I suppose I would’ve been used to the cold even though I prefer the 90 degree F weather we have (finally) now in NYC!

    Doesn’t seem such a bad idea to me, so long as you wrap up warm. And you can always go inside the Sukiennice or one of the many cafes. 🙂

      You’re right, it’s not a bad idea 🙂 and it can be very cheap too, traveling off season! Besides, like you said I went prepared so I was very wrapped up :))

      Glad to hear you’ve been there! Indeed it was very peaceful that morning… Cold, but no windy, so with no one else around everything felt very calm:)
